Jason McCormick serves as the interim director of the Writing Center and a visiting professor of English. They are also a doctoral candidate at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He has taught for a decade, and before that, he worked in marketing and advertising as a creative lead.

Specialties: Jason鈥檚 scholarship focuses on increasing access in Developmental Writing spaces through interventions inspired by Critical Disability Studies.

Specialties in the Writing Center: Jason has worked as a tutor at several institutions and has been involved in development work for Writing Across the Curriculum, disability access training for faculty, and Developmental Education projects.

In addition to their work and studies, Jason enjoys cooking, reading comic books, and traveling.

I am full-time professional staff and am the Assistant Director of the University Writing Center. My professional writing background includes journalism and technical writing. I have been with the Writing Center 12 years. When not working, I enjoy cooking, spending time with my family, and gaming.

Specialties: My main area of expertise lies in creative writing. My debut novel, Princess and the Pauper, will be published on May 6, 2025 by Wild Ink Publishing. In addition to writing, I am also very interested in young adult fiction, folklore, and retellings. 

Specialties in the Writing Center: My strengths include supporting students through their projects and teaching them the basic tools of how to do things so they can do it for themselves. In addition, I am knowledgeable in both MLA and Chicago style format. I also have experience with job and college application materials.

Specialties in the Writing Center: I am particularly good with the exchange of ideas and brainstorming for projects, particularly those in creative fields but also in academic works. I'm proficient with MLA styling and revision practices.

Specialties: I enjoy both creative writing and literary analysis. I am currently writing my Honors Thesis, which will discuss how food influences power in The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and Dawn by Octavia Butler. My specific interests include Contemporary Fiction and Gender Studies. 

Specialties in the Writing Center: My favorite thing to do is help with organization and outlining, but I am comfortable helping with any part of the writing process. I love learning about new disciplines! I have the most experience working with MLA but am also comfortable with APA format. I also love fiction writing and am familiar with giving constructive critiques to creative works.

Specialties: In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing flash fiction and poetry. I am also interested in literary and film analyses, as well as research on early and middle childhood education.  

Specialties in the Writing Center: I would love to work with you on brainstorming, creating an outline, or any other activity to get the writing process started. I鈥檓 pretty good at finding online resources, and I am familiar with both MLA and APA. I also find workshopping personal essays and creative works to be very fun!

Specialties: In addition to the field of English, I have also received recognition from The University of Mississippi for a short story I wrote. I also enjoy reading, staying busy and involved around campus, overall love to write in general. 

Specialties in the Writing Center: I am particularly good at outlining, brainstorming, and feel happiest when working with research projects and papers. Though I am a bigger fan of writing realistic fiction, I do enjoy writing informational and argumentative pieces. Additionally, I am familiar with both MLA and APA citation forms and am confident in any part of the resum茅 building process.

Specialties: My particular interests lie in freedom of creative expression. I鈥檓 specifically interested in works of classic literature in addition to poetry. I enjoy both reading and studying these works as well as experimenting and writing creatively on my own. I have participated and placed in a variety of writing competitions including the Young Authors Writing Competition and a Jane Austen-inspired letter-writing competition.

Specialties in the Writing Center: I鈥檓 particularly good at and interested in working on projects that apply any aspect of creative writing, though I鈥檝e had plenty of experience with technical writing as well. I鈥檓 familiar with both MLA and APA styles of writing.  I鈥檓 also very comfortable working with any individual who has a learning disability/difference of any kind.

Specialties: My interest lies in inorganic chemistry. I am particularly interested in energy states and bonding mechanisms in dative bonds. I am currently working on synthesizing a molecular probe for sarin.

Specialties in Writing Center: I am particularly good with lab reports and formal writing.鈥疘 can also help writers format their scientific findings in a way that is understood by the general audience. I also have some experience with journalism.

Specialties: I specialize in British Romanticism and Southern Literature. In addition to my love of literature, I am also an amateur writer. I love writing poetry, fiction, and screenplays.

My other involvements as a tour guide for the Office of 麻豆传媒色情片, an ambassador for the School of Psychology, and a member of the Honors College have given me foundational skills in both analytical research and professional development.

Specialties in the Writing Center: I am most familiar with any work that is scientific or humanitarian-based in discipline. I have experience assisting people with brainstorming ideas, formatting with both APA and MLA citations, constructing a research paper, devising personal statements and resumes, and structuring presentations. However, regardless of interest, I am dedicated to leaving clients with a better understanding of the prompt in question, instilling a sense of confidence as they finish a project.
